The client: Arafura Rare Earth Ltd
Arafura is a publicly listed company producing rare earths, which are critical materials essential to many important products in modern society. Demand for rare earths is forecast to grow strongly over the coming years, and Arafura aims to be positioned to meet that demand.
The project: Redesign and redevelop website
As a publicly listed company, it is critical that Arafura’s investors and shareholders have easy access to the information the company is required to share. Equally important is the website’s ability to showcase the company’s work and its main project.
The Arafura team recognised that its existing website had not evolved to keep pace with the increased profile of the company, and redesign was needed.
The Process
The ‘getting to know you’ phase
In discussions with Arafura, and in reviewing the existing website, it quickly became apparent that the main problems that needed to be solved were twofold – the team needed to be able to self-manage the site to ensure they could quickly and easily link to ASX announcements, and the site itself needed to be mobile friendly.
The design phase
The redesign involved creating an investor section that pulled together in one location all the information that existing shareholders and potential investors would need. In addition, all the latest announcements were included on the home page, which also showcased the company’s main project.
Customised code was added to the site that means every time the company makes an ASX announcement it is automatically and seamlessly pulled through to Arafura’s website.
The outcome
The resulting website is better targeted towards investors and shareholders, with 20-minute delayed (an ASX requirement) ASX announcements and a dedicated investor section that features all the information investors and shareholders need. It is also mobile friendly, and designed so that Arafura can manage the site themselves.
