BikeSure is Australia’s leading insurer for the cycling community. Staffed entirely by cycling enthusiasts who also happen to understand insurance, the company provides comprehensive stand-alone bicycle insurance, enhanced home contents policies for cyclists, and business packages for bicycle retailers.
The project: Website development
The original BikeSure website wasn’t working as hard as it needed to for this innovative business. Dash was brought in to effectively go back to the drawing board and build a website that matched the professionalism and customer focus of the business.
The Process
The ‘getting to know you’ phase
As odd as it sounds, this part of the process is always easier when a client already has a product that it doesn’t like. Discussions around what doesn’t work well for them inevitable lead to solutions and ways in which things can be done better.
In short, BikeSure had three customer segments they wanted to reach, and required the functionality to provide the customer with detailed quotes, based on each individual’s unique requirements.
The site also needed to make submitting an insurance claim easy and painless.
The design phase
Clean, simple and easy to navigate – that was effectively the brief. And the site mustn’t look like car insurance or banking websites – we’re talking to cyclists here!
Trust is important – site users need to feel confident that BikeSure has the bona fides to cover their property or business. Transparency, lots of FAQs to explain what’s covered (and what’s not) helps to build confidence in the brand.
The outcome
An exceptionally easy to use site that is accessible, informative and no-nonsense, with a simple colour palette giving a clean, professional look and feel.
